Now Where The Heck Did I Leave Those Rules.... Just so you know, I don't have the OD&D rules, but I have downloaded OSRIC [AD&D clone, I think?], Labyrinth Lord, and Heroes Against Darkness. I think (hope?) one of these is a retro-clone of OD&D. Any help that you can offer about which is which would be appreciated. Otherwise, HEY!, I'll just look at the rules themselves and see what they say about it. .... Well, I've done so. All I can say for sure is that OSRIC is not OD&D, but rather a re-skinned AD&D. Labyrinth Lord appears to me to be a re-skinned BECMI-like system. Heroes Against Darkness appears to be a game of a different stripe altogether, more of a re-work or re-imagining of a conglomerate of various editions of D&D with a good dose of original material added for good measure. All of this leaves me without anything that I am sure can serve me in this game. So I may be wholly dependent upon our glorious DM for everything that requires rules, from starting money and equipment prices on. BUT WAIT! I also have Swords & Wizardry, which is a retro-clone of OD&D, since it references the 'white box' rules of yore. Confirmation of this would be greatly appreciated, if anyone can help me out here. [Swords & Wizardry downloads are available HERE!.]
