I have a friend who has a subscription to D&D Beyond and I helped him pay it for the year so I have access to the 2024 stuff. I think you can find a lot of it online but we can also help you make or update a 5e character to a 5e 2024. I don't think you need to buy the books or anything. At least, for a single pbp game. (although, if you like it, go to your local gaming store and buy a copy!!) Right @FitzTheRuke? ** ;) A bunch of the spells changed and class abilities changed. 2024 is, generally, stronger. What system(s) are you familiar with? As for "campaign notes", I, literally, made stuff up for a one-shot that now I'm expanding so there isn't much to learn. I'm using the Greyhawk gods mostly because I'm familiar with the names. I'm not really familiar with how they relate to each other. I like my cosmology to work so if you pick a god to worship, try to stick to Greyhawk. I think I'll pare it down to a couple dozen gods or so. When I went online to research things like, "greyhawk god of the dead", I didn't realize greyhawk has hundreds of gods. I think, for the most part, unless everyone is playing clerics and paladins (we have one paladin), gods can kind of be in the background - at least short term. For politics/Geography. I hadn't really planned that out yet but I have some ideas. Obviously, there's a powerful city that is the centre of the Church of Pelor. I have to decide how much political clout they have in the world. Is there a king? Is it a theocracy? I'm going to hammer that all out and try to present it in a good way. The fact of the matter is the world for your characters is a different place than it was 3 days prior to the current story. Factions will matter in the aftermath but a lot of the status quo will have changed. But that said, this might be a great time for the group's input. Do you have a preference? It might be a good opportunity to weave your character's background into the setting. Edit: TL;DR - This is a post apocalyptic zombie themed game. You are in a small sanctuary and need to focus on survival. Think Points of Light. **Fitz owns a gaming store
