Me, I'm more interested in how what Lien tells Hinjo will affect the plot line.
She overheard the imp speak to Therkla about the coming attempted regicide, and specifically mentioned Lord Kubota.
That has the potential to really move the plot into the fast lane, as Hinjo and some guards and allied lords confront Kubota (and likely his allied lords) - all on ships at high sea. I imagine this might force Kubota to act early, perhaps leading to some interesting consequences. Perhaps Therkla will even face such a situation that right in the middle of some dramatic (chaotic combat?) scene she will switch sides.
I also worry for Vaarsuvius' health. He keeps creating ever more potent, ever more skillful divination spells, only for them to fail for all sorts of reasons he could not have anticipated. And every time he is convinced that the spell failed due to some error on his own part - some fault in his casting or devising. When this is over and he finally realizes his lack of failure, he deserves to get an honorary 'Spell Focus (divination) - if not outright specialization in divination. I cannot help but wonder if these spells he is creating are not gaining him xp - perhaps enough to eventually level once or twice. But then the xp he is perhaps gaining is likely being spent as an xp component for many of said spells, so perhaps he will not level after all.
Well, I've rambled enough for now.
