Hahaha! Thinking that people actually read more than the first two posts in a thread, especially a long one... that's funny! :p By the way, if you notice there's more than one Oots thread for the same strip you can use the little report button to bring it to a moderator's attention and they can merge them for us. (Mods, please correct me if that's not a good use of the report button.) I think the whole "last breath EVER" thing was a way to stress that Belkar will die and not come back. I mean, if he just said Belkar will die then resurrection is always an option. Death isn't really a big threat at their level (as demonstrated by the fact that the main character has been dead for a very long time and is still an active part of the comic), but knowing you'll die and never come back is a much bigger threat. Kinda reminds me of how in the current campaign we're playing that the DM said we could spend two action points to auto-stabilize at -9, meaning that we'd pretty much never die if we kept two action points in reserve at all times, so the threat of death wasn't really threatening anymore. Then a shambling mound (I think that's what it was) dragged a character into a river and swam away. Good luck stabilizing underwater in the jaws of a walking compost heap. :-S
