Except that there was no discussion in this thread or in the OP. Nine times out of ten is someone racing to post rather than using the technologies that are built for the job. This post in particular had nothing to do with discussion, it was announcing the "news" that a new strip was up... again, that is exactly what the feed is for.
If I cared enough I'd just write a script to post a message as soon as it hits the feed, that way I can inflate my post count too.
IMO it's completely pointless but to each his own.

Did...did Elan really come unarmed? He's a PC, darn it! PCs wear chainshirt nighties and clutch longswords in their sleep like they're teddy bears! No reason to feel awkward taking weapons to meet a friend.
You shoulda stopped your train of thought there. Elan = AWFUL PC.
Elan's rapier has never shown up on him when he's not holding it, the same as Durkon's hammer or Belkar's daggers. There's no reason to think he's unarmed here just because we don't see the rapier hanging at his belt.
Outmatched, probably, especially if the imp pops in to provide a flank, but not unarmed.
A few weeks ago, I suggested we have one giant OOTS thread, so that we didn't have the same conversations about the strip's quality/pacing every singe thread. It was rejected because several people use the new threads as a way to know if the strip has been posted. So, yeah, unlikely to change.
