Does anyone have any new ideas about what the Monster in the Darkness really is?

I'm sticking with a Zodar. RB claimed it was in a monster book and it is the one that fits most.

The ESCAPE! trick was what clinched it. Pretty much all other monsters that can Wish can speak, BUT MITD's ability to speak is unique for his kind. His inability to retrigger the ability also coincided with the 3E Zodar's abilities.

Anybody else notice that we haven't seen Monster in the Darkness, or Xykon (the main antagonist in the series) for over two years?

I really really hope that this Godsmoot thing relates back to the main plot. Like, maybe the point of destroying the world is to close the Snarl. Or, welll... I can't think of any other legitimate reason to start another "save the world" plotline right now.
