One of my fellow Chicago Land peope, Mark Plemmons, had this in the general so thought I'd repost it.

Writers - open call reminder!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Got some ideas in your head you just have to get on paper? Don't forget we're accepting freelance submissions!

While the D&D Kingdoms of Kalamar setting, and the HackMaster rpg, are our two main game lines, don't forget we also have the Player's Advantage series, and GameMaster's Workshop series. Other ideas, like board and card games, are also accepted.

Freelance submission guidelines are at:

http://www.kenzerco.com/corporate/submission.php

You can also post basic questions here, and I'll try to answer them.

What do you want to know? Just ask! :) It's hard for me to answer without a more specific question.

OK, I'm a little confused. Is Player's Advantage done through Mystic Eye or through you guys? I saw Goods & Gear on your site and Rogue on ME's. Assuming it's through you, would you be receptive to a sorcerer or cleric PA book? If so, I’ll work up a proposal.

I think this is an unfortunate case of two companies having the same name for a line of products. It also doesn't help that they have similar last names with each company (Charles Plemons wrote PA: Rogue while Mark Plemmons is with Kenzer).

But I'd also like to know a little more about submission guidelines for Kenzer's PA line. There is little to no info about it on their site. Goods & Gear seems like a great product, but what other advantage can this line give players? We have all the race books mankind could ever want, so what's left for players to work with?

Well, I can't really say "yes" without knowing much more about it. Also, I'm not one of the guys who says "yes." Your best bet is to submit a brief proposal with outline, before beginning on anything more complex.

Right. We've been using "Player's Advantage" in our Knights of the Dinner Table magazine for some years, and "GameMaster's Workshop" there and on a 2E Kingdoms of Kalamar product, so those were our natural choices.

Yes, it's a new line, so there's not much for it yet. Submission guidelines would be the same as for any other product, I would say, at least starting out.

We'd probably want race books under the Kingdoms of Kalamar line, anyway. :) As for other Player's Advantage books, I'd say it depends what creative juices the writer could squeeze out. We needed PA to launch Goods and Gear as being separate from our other lines, but I haven't really sat down and thought about new PA products myself. Been too busy working on other stuff. :)
