Hi, my name is Doyle Wayne Ramos-Tavener, and I am writing this open letter to all current and future customers of SV Games.
I want to draw your attention to a recent order I placed with SV Games. Here’s a quote from the email confirming my order:
Name Code Qty Each Options
Hedge Magic ATG0252 1 13.31
Wizard's Grimoire ATG0258 1 22.21
The Mysteries ATG0265 1 19.54
The Medieval Bestiary: ATG0266 1 17.76
Revised Edition
Faeries, Revised Edition ATG1110 1 15.13
Subtotal 87.95
Shipping 6.99
Tax 0.00
Total 94.94
I chose to order from SV Games over other on-line stores because they indicated that they had in stock two supplements that were considered out-of-print by the publisher: The Mysteries and Faeries, Revised Edition. These were not presented as rarities, but as part of their remaining stock.
I had hoped that these supplements were still in the distribution pipeline, and was very happy when I read that SV Games still had them. Now, I should tell you that these products are available as less expensive PDFs, but I prefer hardcopy, if possible.
I received my order confirmation on March 10. On March 19, I received this follow up email on March 19 from an employee of SV Games:
Thank you for your order. Unfortunately, it appears that atg0265 and atg1110 are no longer available. We have attempted to source them from numerous suppliers but to no avail. As this is the case, would you like the balance of the order shipped to you?
I initially replied twice to this email. My first reply was a single word, “Yes.”
My second reply was a little more hot:
One additional note. These product are still listed on you website as available. Before someone else gives you money for something you don't have, review your catalog contents.
I will not be conducting any future business with your organization, if I can help it. I will also be posting this message on EN World and other public gaming boards, so as to encourage your prompt action.
Well, it has been four weeks since I sent that reply, and I still have not received my shipment of books.
I sent another reply today, asking for an update of the status of my order. They haven’t replied yet, but frankly I don’t expect them to until Monday or later.
And finally, you guessed it, they have yet to update their web page. Check it out for yourself:

Business is, well, busy. I can understand not having enough time to do all that you need to. But SV Games has failed me three times as a customer:
* Listing items that they don’t have, and taking my money for them for twelve days before refunding my account.
* Not correcting their web page once I informed them that they should do so.
* Sending the items to me via “Slow Boat to China Express”. Like I said, I still have not received my remaining items one month after their request for shipping instructions.
I would advise anyone considering SV games to reconsider doing any business with them. If this had been done deliberately, I would call it ‘Bait and switch.’ For me, the result was the same, whether it was done deliberately or just as an honest mistake.
