Hi All, For years I've had an idea for an RPG, but there are two major obstacles in my way... First, It is based on a licensed property. A good one. Not Star Wars, Lord of the Rings big, but big enough. Second, I'm just one guy. I'm not a major name, nor do I have a major company. Now my question is, in your professional opinions of today's market, am I better off pitching this idea to an existing company or persuing it myself. Have I any chance of obtaining the rights on my own? If the former, what is the most effective way of pitching this type of idea? A little background might help... I'm a freelance writer and artist who has worked in the gaming industry on and off for about 10 years. On the retail/wholesale side of the industry, I've put in a good 20 years. I've been playing RPGs for 28 years. I've also worked at a marketing and consulting firm which did a bit of PR work. I'm very serious about this as I not only feel the product would sell decently, but I also believe in my ability to write such a product. I know I want to work in the gaming industry full time and I suppose I'm wondering if this is the way to go, or does it make more sense to just keep it a "homebrew" and continue trying to get more work the traditional way. I apologize if this sounds more personal then business-like, but as many independant RPG company owners will agree, the line blurs a little when you talk about something you really believe in. Thanks for your time, Awesome Site and Keep the Faith, Adam Dickstein NewLifeForm
