D&D 5E Opportunity Attacks from creatures with reach

Considering that OAs are granted for leaving a creature's reach: do creatures with longer reach (e.g. a giant) actually give more room to manoeuver around them without provoking OAs, than other creatures?

Does "threatening reach" exist in 5E for monsters?

I would say yes. For creatures with multiple reach (dragon, Tarrasque, etc.), I would also allow the creature to choose. So if there is a 5' attack and a 10' attack, the creature can use the 5' attack after the opponent leaves 5' or the 10' attack if the creature leaves 10'.

EDIT: But they only get to do 1 attack each round.

It is when they leave reach, so yes a giant gives you more room to maneuver.

But some monsters have multiple reach like a wyvern has 5' on it's claws attack and 10' on it's bite and sting.

Yes, creatures with reach give you more room to maneuver.

Think of it as them being cumbersome and not as effective at fighting people near them.
