Important Note I was contacted recently by a publisher who is putting together a pdf for Katrina Relief. I offered to contribute my Orcish Wand of Wonder table as part of that pdf. But I don't want to do this without the blessing of those who gave ideas for this table. If you contributed your ideas to this thread, please indicate if you object to them being used in this way. Thanks. ------------ ENWorld, I once again call upon your powers of creativity to aid me in making my game great. Last year I came up with a one-shot adventure to run for some friends and then to run at the NC Game Day. This adventure had a twist in that the PC's were all Orcs. Among them was the Orcish Wizard, Mugnutz the Blue. Mugnuts was "the Blue" thanks to a mishap with his prized possession, a Wand of Wonder (basically like the Rod but with charges). This item saw much use every time I ran this adventure. Now it is time for the sequal to that adventure and I have decided that Mugnutz has used up all the charges in his previous Wand of Wonder and has fashioned a new one. But I would like for the new one to have effects that feel more "orcish". So I'd like to collect your ideas as to what sorts of weird and nasty kinds of things I could roll randomly for as Mugnutz whips out his wand when I run this sequal game at the upcoming NC Game Day V. The only guideline I have for your ideas is that they should be somewhat similar in power level to the usual effects of the "off the rack" version of the Rod of Wonder in the DMG. In other words, "Chunks of rotting meat fall from the sky, precisely duplicating the effects of Meteor Swarm" would be a bit over the top. "A blast of caustic boogers shoots from the wand at the target doing damage as an Acid Arrow (Caster Level 5)" is right on target. Let em' rip!
