It is a long time ago in the far future kind of thing.Basicaly a fantasy setting created by technology, magic is lost technology that only a few can use etc. And all the fantasy races and monsters were either geneticaly enginered or in the case of constructs and the like- are old technology. I need some sugestions the origins of the races. I think that I figured out where all the dnd races came from originaly- they were pets.If you look at the (stereo)typical traits of the races it becomes clear. elves- cats aloof patiently wiating forever to pounce or sleep then running in circles full of energy for no reason. dwarves- dogs- loyal to family loving to dig aggressive gnomes- depending on incarnation ferrets for more traditional happy playfull connection to borrowing animals or parrots for more kyrinish intelligent anoying contantly talking nonsense. halflings- hamsters gerbills and the like small skitish always eating burrowing running on wheels to nowhere. But what about the other races- goblins orcs etc- ideas maybe goblins as sewer rats.</blockquote>
