Origins Event Registration: awful once again

Surprised I didn't see a thread on this already, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

MAN. I've been going to GenCon and Origins for a decade now, and put up with some bad online ordering experiences, but this one was probably the worst. And, that was after GAMA delayed event registration for 6 days to iron things out.

Registration went "live" at noon Eastern. It took me over 2 hours to get my event tickets; wound up being "sent back to start" at least three times, and enormous load / wait times for every web page throughout. I've been in an AIM chat room with a number of friends as we've been trying to register; some of them still haven't gotten through, and we're now at the 3 hour mark.

Yeah, not impressed.

The 'if you search for only one item, it won't let you buy it, so search for two instead' message is just hysterical.

Yeah, that's a nice little bug.

My friends are still not successfully registered, and we're coming up on the 4-hour mark now.
