Good times... Darklance said:One of my sisters went there. Since all of the girls there dated West Point cadets, it was nicknamed Mt St Mattress. Guess it worked - my sister married her cadet, & he became an army doctor to boot. They are still happily married & raising an army of rugrats of their own. You guys are making me all nostalgic for Orange County now. I still have a lot of family in the area - a brother & sister in Walden, a sister in Pine Bush. My Dad was a West Point grad, so I got to spend a lot of time there too. I have fond memories of rooting on the Army basketball team with my Dad during the Coach Kryzewski era. And nothing beats the pageantry of a college football game at Michie Stadium. I guess it might be time to make the pilgrimage back to the old homestead.... BTW, did any of you guys run cross country? I'll never forget the County & Sectional meets at Bear Mountain State Park. Man that hill climb in the middle of the race was sheer murder! And then rocketing down the hill while people were falling down around you right & left . Ah! Good times... ;)
