Dungeon! The perfect game to play when you can't get enough players for D&D would be Dungeon! It is an excellent gateway game to introduce casual gamers to D&D. Think dungeon crawl D&D in a boardgame format. TSR put this game out a long time ago and it may be difficult to find now. There is a set of metal miniatures that you can buy for the game that also adds a few new classes. Another fun game is Aliens. You basically re-enact scenes from the movie Aliens. Each player takes control of a few Marines and tries to survive the scenario. Pulse rifles, grenades, flamers and machine guns. Fun for the whole family! It might be hard to find. History of the World is another fun game. You play through 7 (if I remember correctly) historical periods and try to earn the most victory points by holding on to territory and improvements. War at Sea and Victory in the Pacific are two very basic wargames that are easy to learn and fun to play. I'm not sure if you can find these games anymore. A game this is fun and easy to find is the new futuristic Risk game. They implemented rules to speed the game up and it really adds a new dimension to the game.
