Sad parting....

I sure Hope someone can try to fill his shoes with the military and USO ... I was lucky enough to have met him twice. Once in the Persian Gulf in '91 where he flew to a ship I was stationed on and once in Universal Studios a year and a half later.

I liked his pre-Road films the best, as well as some of his great radio performances.

If you get a chance to see Big Broadcast of 1938, go for it! That was his first film (if I remember correctly) as well as the film that gave us "Thanks For The Memories".

Sleep well, Leslie.

Much like that geek with the bowtie and piano who sings political parodies at all the big washington events, I've never understood in even the slightest what Bob Hope's appeal to others was. I guess my sense of humor is Hope-deficient, cause I just didn't get it.

Nonetheless, he busted his butt for a lot of years entertaining troops and raising funds for charity, so I did respect his dedication.

Wherever you are Bob, good golfing!

I was shocked when I heard about it on the news when I woke up. My dad is a huge fan of Bob Hope, and I'm pretty sure he is feeling sad right now. I am sad to hear that he has passed on. I mean, I know that everyone will die someday, but no one ever thinks about it happening to someone else until after it happens.

Cheers to Bob Hope and the humor that will live on!
