Been there... I signed up for Camelot about a week after the launch, and was a fairly dedicated player up to a month or so ago. I can agree with some of the other comments, it's possibly the "best of the breed" for massive fantasy RPGs. Having said that, I don't find it terribly exciting compared to D&D, or even a good single-player computer game. Quests are... ok... for a massive, but still consist of deliver-note-to-NPC-A-who-sends-you-to-NPC-B. Characters are fairly cardboard, and storyline is non-existant. Combat is better than most massives, and downtime is significantly reduced compared to EQ, AC and the rest. Your goal for the first 20 levels is to whomp on critters to get powerful enough to play Realm vs Realm. This game is really _all_ about realm-to-realm warfare. All of the tweaks and changes to the game are really geared towards that goal, and the expectation is that you'll spend most of your game time doing RvR (or earning experience/loot to improve chances of RvR). If that's your type of game - go for it. If you want more in-depth gameplay (story, character development etc), EQ or AC are both far superior. Me? I'm playing Dungeon Seige until Morrowind is released :)
