IMO, it's really useful. However, I don't think it's worth $50.

I ordered my copy on the internet about 6 months ago, and I got it for about $15.

If you can find a decent price, I'd highly recommend it.

India in the Realms

On a related note, does anyone know what the name of the India-based land in FR is? I'm sure there's one; every culture known to man (and some unknown) has its representative in the Realms.

If your running an FR campaign it's very nice. Whether it's $50 nice is debatable. You might try ebay or something like that see if you can find it for cheaper.

Well worth it.

I expand all my campaigns using FR Atlas. I don't really like the artitic feel of the maps but they are great for getting everything situated for your game.

I used it to create an overview of where all the adventure locations in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil were located.. I found it a great asset.

For the person that was asking about where the Indian setting was located... I think you are talking about places like Ra-Khati. These locales were detailed in the Horde Boxed set, as well as in the 3 adventures that were published for that setting. You can find them at Wizard's web site as ESDs.

Hope that helps.

in case people were looking for this product half.com has some. There is also a 5 off 20 if you merge your ebay.com and half.com accounts together(or know where to look) so I got it for $20 shipped(I call that a hot deal) and supposedly it's new, but as long as it installs I am happy.

Calimshan always struck me as having a more Ottoman or Arabian flavour than Indian. Yes, I know there's Zakhara, but redundancy has always been a feature of the Realms (one side-effect of being too big for its own good, IMO).

Isn't there a part of Kara-Tur that's based on India?

I've tended to think the same thing. I also think the Horde lands are mimics of Tibet or Mongolia.

I don't know about India but I swear I was recently reading a FR sourcebook which struck me as being India.

I guess this meads more reading for me...
