Definitely NOT any Japanese film containing the word "Frankenstein". But seriously...a big fan of 50s/60s low-budget horror here. The Alligator People...doctor in Everglades experiments with reptilian DNA and makes some monsters Attack of the Crab Monsters...giant crabs. And features a young actor named Jack Nicholson. And directed by Roger Corman! Wow. Them!...giant ants in the LA sewers. Need I say more? Invasion of the Saucermen...hey! aliens who make it look like any witness to them is drunk! ya gotta love it! The Reptile...weresnake kills people Day of the Triffids...giant plants menace a bunch of blind Brits The Horror At Party Beach...fish people regenerate from drowned sailors and menace some surfers Plan 9 From Outer Space...Bela Lugosi died in the middle of this one Robot Monster...budget was $600 Bug...OK, its the 70s. Starts out about pyromaniac beetle/grub things and turns into a really weird drug-induced thing about hyperintelligent insects. The Incredible Melting Man...yeah, 'nuff said. Basically...track down anything directed by Roger Corman or William Castle. Both did some really bad movies, but which were halfway good in a way. Corman was responsible for the series of "Poe" movies starring Vincent Price (The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death, The Haunted Palace) which bore virtually no resemblance to the relevant Poe story or poem. The Haunted Palace, frex, being more closely based on HPL's Case of Charles Dexter Ward.
