Yup, the subject of the thread says it all....

HARP (High Adventure Role Playing), the new game from Iron Crown Enterprises released in December, will be revised with its second printing.

The first print run (larger than normal) is almost completely gone. The revision will be going to the printer on Tuesday (hopefully :D ) and should be back in about 2 weeks.

In the revision, not only are we fixing all the errata, and tweaking things a little bit, but we are also adding more content. An additional 32 pages (including adding an index), and keeping the price at the same low $25. We have taken a lot of customer feedback and incorporated it into the revision as well.

Now, what about you folks who have the first printing of HARP? ICE has not forgotten you! Not only will all the changes/additions be made available as free PDFs (these should be available before the book is back from the printers), but ICE is also giving you a $15 discount, usuable on anything in the ICE online store (except logo gear and shipping) for each copy of the first edition of HARP that you purchased. (after placing your order, just email customerservice@ironcrown.com to let them know you want to use your discount).

This has been discussed on both the ICE forums and over on the rpg.net forums, but I felt that I should post here as well in case some purchasers of HARP over here do not frequent those forums.

Thanks for your time!

Just so you know, I still miss Rolemaster.

Rolemaster is still alive and kicking, and actually has a new book coming out late this spring (in fact, I have just received the manuscript for it this past week, but have not had time to look it over yet). Our focus this year is more on getting HARP established, but then thing should start evening out again after that.

I think I'll wait and see if it gets revised again in its 3rd printing...

Nope, this is the last revision for a while. This revision was done to help iron out any small issues and quirks left over from playtesting. It was also done so quickly because the fan-base for it is still relatively small. Added to this, the fact that ICE is taking care of those who purchased the first edition via the PDFs and the discount, we have kept the majority of our customers happy, as the link to the following thread shows..... http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=102906

Actually, I was hoping they would reprint (if not revise) and redistribute their RMSS (not their RM-FRP) core ruleset. The same kind of hope that FanPro would reprint (if not revise) and redistribute Shadowrun Core Rulebook.

New booka are nice, but to continue printing the core rules is a definite sign it is alive.

RM is still alive. We have a new book coming out for it in about 2 months.

ICE is planning on revising Rolemaster, but that is still a few years down the road. The harsh truth is that once we announce a revision of it, sales would completely die, something that has been proven over and over by many companies. This is one of the reason that we came out with HARP. It helps to establish an alternate revenue source so that the company can survive revising RM. HARP is just one such source....

In the meantime, we continue to produce RM products (RMSS and RMFRP are the same system, just packaged differently and with a few minor tweaks). We also get HARP established and going solid as well.

Eosin the Red - Yeah? Can you give me a few links so that I can check them out as well?

Very Cool! :D

I know that one fellow is also working on a set of guidelines for using HARP with HarnWorld, and another who, IIRC, is using HARP for FR. One guy is even working on his own set of HARP sci-fi rules until we can come out with our own.. hehe

Personally, I feel that HARP is an amazing system with lots of flexibility that allows it to be used for many different settings without requiring lot special rules. This flexibility, combined with its simplicity (relative, of course) makes it very versatile....
