Teflon Billy: The Wings lack a bruising forward who refuses to be moved from in front of the net...hopefully they keep finding ways around this shortcoming. We could argue all day about the league's best defenseman (or defenceman if you prefer ;) ), but we'd both agree that Lidstrom and Blake are on the list of candidates. You and I both agree on what a defenseman's primary role on the ice should be...perhaps that's because we were both more talented at clobbering people, than scoring goals ourselves :D . IF we lose to the Canucks, I promise to address the Wings' attempt to purchase The Cup negatively. Nobody thinks the officiating has been good, I just don't wanna hear any crap about how Vancouver has been getting the shaft -- not that you ever said this. That silliness was left for other Canuck fans to claim. And last night went exactly as I predicted; namely that Burke's act garnered three first period power plays for Vancouver. Happily for my Wings, they weathered the onslaught and even scored shorthanded! As for Koharski, well that's how Detroiters feel about Kerry Frasier (sp?). Finally, I'm glad that the Canucks did not resort to thug hockey after falling behind by four goals. Making a statement phsically is fine, but brutality for the sake of brutality has no place in the NHL. Lady Dragon: Yzerman is the ultimate leader and team player. I can't imagine the Red Wings without him, and yet sadly that situation will be a reality within the next 2-3 years. There is no other player I would rather have had as our captain during this time, and that includes Gretzky and Lemieux. That's just how I feel about the guy and what he's meant to hockey in this town. Also, Federov, Fischer (I can't believe Jiri's listed here!!) and Hasek all played FANTASTIC games last night! When Sergei plays at that speed and that level, no one in the game is better or more dangerous. cjyoung1: We sound like the same type of player, namely big and none-too-fast :D . Agamon: I'm not sure that McLaren was specifically targetting Zednik on that play, but it's sort of irrelevant.
