GreyOne: Chelios is not classless, but he does behave in a rather unsportsmanlike and deplorable manner at times. I also admit that Hasek flops around fishing for calls. I'll bet that each of your favorite teams have players who fall short of being Boy Scouts too. But let's be honest folks. Draper did not run Skudra, regardless of how hard he went in. Draper always skates fast and hard, which is why he's such a pesky (and dangerous) penalty killer. He went charging in for a chance at scoring shorthanded, and he, the goalie and defenseman all wound up in a pile. And whether or not he grabbed Jovanovski, the officials weren't going to give Vancouver a five-on-three at that juncture. Also, we scored another shorthanded goal on that very same power play IIRC. Doesn't that put momentum squarely in Detroit's favor? I wish people would be a bit more objective. If Todd Bertuzzi came busting into the Wings' zone on a shorthanded rush and got tangled up fighting his way to the net, thus crashing into Hasek leaving Ohlund with an easy shot, no one would gripe. It's easy to complain about the Wings advancing because they're the favorites, and they've spent a truckload of cash on this group of players. But gripe about legit stuff, not ticky-tack garbage. Here are the some of the series stats: Penalties: Detroit 30, Vancouver 31 with 17 power plays in Games 4-6 Penalty Minutes: Detroit 60, Vancouver 62 Shot on Goal: Detroit 170, Vancouver only 147 despite trailing much of Games 3-6 The Wings outplayed Vancouver, and were the better team during the series. BTW, we need to start another playoff thread soon, this one's gonna exceed the post count limit before the day is through.
