Very sick i agree. But as the article Stated: the victim had to be willing, had to know what was happening, watch the knife, and not stop it.
What he did was completely wrong and they even say that they use human effigies they 'sacrafice'. But what they fail to grasp is that Kali is the Creator and the Destroyer.
They are only focusing on her destructive persona and not her motherly persona.

Its a shame when people have to twist Faith. It gives everyone else who worships her a bad name.

After reading that article, I started poking around on the web for other stuff on Kali. Here's an interesting article, and also here.
I don't think this is necessarily off topic, because there are lots of interesting ideas for deities, creation myths and even adventures in those articles. For example, Kali is depicted as holding the severed head of a demon. I can think of all sorts of things to do with that.
