\ A friend of mine got a gag gift for his birthday - a DVD of the Phantom From 10,000 Phathoms a terrible 50's 'horror' movie about a radioactive monster that hangs around a beach killing people and guarding a glowing rock (I can't make this stuff up). Some highlights of the MST3King we did; After 5 people are killed the local sherrif looks at the main male lead and says 'I think its about time we did something!' The female lead gets a towel from a closet to take a shower, the male lead sneaks into her house while she is in the shower. Her father shows up and says she'll leave the 'men' to talk and promptly goes and waits in the closet!! I couldn't breath I was laughing so hard! Right at the beginning of the movie the sherrif and male lead encounter a sneaky guy carrying a speargun skulking around in the bushes on the beach. When someone turns up dead from being shot with a speargun the sherrif immeditaly suspects the male lead  The female lead's father talks to his secretary and says "Miss Smith you're an intelligent woman, bitter prehaps...' One of us pipes up "..Quite ugly too." We howled at that one too. Anyway some good movies to rent include Spirited Away - don't just rent it - buy it. It really is that good. 13th Warrior - ditto. Jaws - Robert Shaw is too cool in this not to like it. The Imposters - if you like slapstick (and Oliver Platt) you will like this. Grosse Point Blank - the poetry scene is too funny to be believed!
