I am sorry, everyone.
I could not come to Gen Con.
I had hoped to meet everyone at the ENNies, and meet and have a good long chat with the ENWorld folks, and meet my friends here on the board at Gen Con.
However, I was ill, and when one is ill one's reflexes and driving skills are not up to par.
Driving through the 120 mile Chicago Traffic Zone is no joke, even when you are at your best, and your reflexes are top notch.
I just could not make it. That is, I could not make it and expect to return home ... alive.
So here I am, stuck at home during yet ... another ... Gen Con.
When they move it to Indianapolis next year, everything will change.
From my area, it's a drive through all rural areas - 300 miles of rural freeway, and not a city to go through the whole way until you reach the suburbs of Indianapolis.
THAT will prove a big plus for Gen Con, for me, and it'll be one heck of a lot easier to get there, from here.
That is not to say I want Gen Con moved - it is, after all, GEN Con (Geneva ... Lake Geneva ... Con.)
However, they are moving it, for good or bad.
In my case, it'll make the drive easier.
I'll get better, be able to get out of the house again, and I'll be at next year's Gen Con.
I'm certain most of you will remember me.
The folk in the IR will remember.
And, after all, who can forget the person who told you all that your players should be given Carte Blanche?
Finally, I wish everyone a good time at Gen Con.
All of you have a kick butt time at the Con, run and play in some good games, and have a great ENNies celebration!
