I feel kind of bad posting this since I just noticed PCat's announcement about reducing the off-topic stuff, but I've been wracking my brain about this for over a week now.
In 1999, the movie Deep Blue Sea (intelligent sharks destroying an at-sea research facility) was released. I saw that movie again about a week and a half ago and it reminded me of another movie, released about the same time, that also took place at sea, although this mystery movie was on a cruiserliner I believe and the monsters were either kraken, giant squids, or some other tentacled horror. I'm at a lost to recall it's name or the actors (or if it was any good for that matter).
If you have an idea what movie I'm thinking of, please help; it's rather annoying myself and my friends.
