I just found out today that the USAF is moving me to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City (it was even my first choice, gotta love that) and I'm thrilled. My brother lives there and he told me that there's room in his group to play! Woo hoo! I haven't had much luck finding a gaming group here in Montgomery, so this is indeed welcome news. I know this isn't the most interesting thread on the boards, but the fact I'll get to game regularly again makes me very happy. <Doing the happy dance>

I never thought I'd ever say this...but I'm happy for you that you are moving to Oklahoma...heh, jk.

Hope you enjoy your game!

Well, I know I belong to the land, and the land I belong to is grand . . .

And another good part is that my brother gets Sooner season football tickets, so I'll get to see a game or two each year, too. Boomer Sooner!

I hate that musical. It's nothing like Oklahoma. Ah, those white snow capped mountains...NOT! Tho we can claim to have the tallest hill in the world. It's one foot from being a mountain. That being said, I don't know how tall it has to be to be an actual mountain, just that it's one foot from it. Gotta love those Sooners! I envy you those tickets! Happy gaming!

Well you are coming into grand gaming lands or at least a close approximation. I live here, as does the world famous troll Bugaboo. Lots of gaming to be had, just don't expect the RPGA to be helpful. Remember Games HQ, the best shop in town with lots of room to play.

OKC is also the WoT RPG capitol of the gaming world (including me, Owen Stephens, and the webmaster of a SW RPG page, called Legacy of Stife who writes some cool WoT adventures).

Lots and lots of Champions RPG near Tinker.

I find it hard to believe that anyone stationed at a military base has trouble finding a gaming group. All of the gamers I've ever known who were in the military have said they never had a problem getting a game up, no matter where they were stationed.

But I'm glad you're moving to greener gaming pastures.

Oh, and Hook 'em Horns. :)

Shadowdancer, your hook-em-horns reminded me of something my 3-year-old daughter did. We were watching the OU-Texas game back in October and she noticed all the Texas fans making that obscene gesture. She worked her little fingers into the shape and said "look daddy." I quickly told her that we're an Oklahoma household and that the proper form of display was to turn the horns down. Every now and then since then, she'll walk up to me, say "look daddy" and do the down-turned horns. Another true believer of the Sooner Nation. It's a beautiful thing.

In all seriousness, I love the OU-Texas rivalry, it is heated, passionate, and charged, yet it appears that for the most part, everyone at the game keeps it under control. No reports of fights or vandalism that I've heard. It is terrific that the fans can be so partisan, yet still get along. I hope to get down there at least once during my tour.

To all the Texas (and other Big 12) fans. Best of luck in the upcoming NCAA baseketball tourney.
