(OT) My band got Airplay tonight!!!!

Its a little off topic but I am really freaking hyped right now...All mine and my bandmate's hard work has finally paid off.....We've been working like slaves putting our first single together....(we've decided to self produce all of our own music as opposed to spending way too much money in a studio) and we've been hard at work writing music that we feel is fresh and new....The biggest local station around my area (columbus,OH) Played our first single over the air and was just raving on and on about how they love our music...and they want to interview us on the air in a month or two!!!.....anyways....I'm just really excited...so I'll calm down now ) .....if you're interested check us out at www.slavestitched.com .......

I would like to congratulate you. The music industry is not easy.

My advice is to try to promote the heck out of yourself locally. Maybe offer to do a few free performances, or help out a local charity that matters to you and your bandmates. This way you can help yourselves and make Columbus proud to call you their own.

Also, find a good publicist. I have a friend who used to be a rock journalist. She has said that a lot of good bands have poor publicists that have held them back.

Also, try submitting your CD to other stations in other markets. Or send them to a few music critics at papers in other cities. Somebody may give you a good write up.

I listened to the samples on your site, and I must say, it's cool stuff! Like all good music, it sounds familiar, yet different enough to show that it's definitely something new. Keep up the good work, and I hope it pays off.

Hey guys...thanks for the comments....I didn't really think anyone would care....anywayz......as far as the promotion thing...all the guys in this band is really good....and between all of us we have many many connections and we are all very dedicated....we've already started planning a outline of how we're going to promote......anywayz....I've had a long day and I'm very tired...(we practiced for like 9 hours straight today....)...by the way..I'm the drummer ) ...... we have a few more songs almost done....We're just working on the vocals....so we should have those up on our site pretty soon........and I'll prolly be posting d20 stats of the band on my personal site someday soon!!!...If you want you can check out some of my personal music on my resource site.... www.cyberneticsorcery.net in the Imperial Record section in the Dragonstar area.... later...and thanx again for the replies!!

i downloaded and listened to your song at the stake. it is pretty good. i am a big fan of industrial music myself.

the vox sounded a lot like those of tim skold on his self-titled release and his work with mdfmk.

the guitar work is good. it is nicely aggressive but not too loud.

i would like to hear more of your band's songs.
