Ohhh...interesting. I actually bought The Babylon Project just to use with a system more agreeable to my group. What came out wasnt too bad...really annoying that a couple of supplements that were written never saw release.

Odd.

Agents of Gaming (who did the B5 miniature game) stated that Warner Brothers was not making any new licensesed games with the Bab 5 property.

Curious.

JMS's comment about a new B5 RPG being in the works was made as a response to AoG's announcement to rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated that their license was being discontinued.

Well who is the JMS guy and why does he think he knows anything about Bab5.

:p Just kidding.

Can't get much more official than that.

Whoever is publishing the new B5 RPG have better be good. The fact that JMS did not announced the name of the publisher is cause for concern.

One more thing, it is announced that it is due out in 2002. We got about three month left remaining in the year. I doubt there is enough time to get such a book out much less inform the distributors about the new product (they prefer a 4-month advance notice).

Two strikes against JMS announcement: an unnamed publisher and an unrealistic release date.

It is not unusual for JMS to be very vague about things that have not had public announcements by the company involved. So #1 doesn't bother me at all.

The original post from JMS says:

"A new license has just been made with another RPG company, and they're looking to come out with their first salvo next year."

So #2 isn't valid, at least not claiming JMS as the source.
