[OT] Short visit to Poland - what to see?

First Post
I'm making a couple of visits to Poland over the next couple of months, for 2/3 weeks each, but as it's a working trip, I can only rely on one weekend being totally free (Aug 24/25) to be able to get out of the Warsaw area.

I had a fancy to go to Malbork castle, with either Torun or Gdansk as the secondary attraction, but colleagues are strongly recommending Krakow. As I've only got the one (definite) free weekend, I probably can't do both, given the distances.

I know there are a couple of Poles knocking around on these boards - do you or any one else who's been to Poland have any recommendations? Are there any secret treasures that I shouldn't miss?

I've only been once, and then only to Krakow. Still, I had a great time! My brother used to live there, though. He took us to the best pizza place I've ever been to ever (in Poland! No kidding!) and we saw the big castle there in Krakow.

I don't know if this means anything to you or not, but we went in 2000. That year, there was a big tourism push of some kind, where, like 10 cities or so were elected as tourism treasures. On that trip we saw three of those cities, Prague, Helsinki and Krakow.
