Message: <blockquote data-quote="ranix65" data-source="post: 387247" data-attributes="member: 7640">Trapper John, Colonel Potter, and Winchester.Trapper John was just cool.  Mind you this is coming from a 19-year old who watched the show because his 18 year old girlfriend made him sit down and watch it with her, and now I've fallen in love with this show.  My girlfriend likes Trapper John better too(she's a Catholic who hates being preached to.  I sometimes wonder why her head hasn't exploded like in Scanners, I've been to exactly 1 Sunday Mass with her, so I know what her priest is like).Colonel Potter reminds me, as someone else brought up, of a grumpy grandfather.  He specifically reminds me of my departed grandfather who was, IIRC, a military man himself(I think he served in WW2, can't remember off the top of my head).  BAsically, the type who never could bring himself to say the words, "I love you", but you knew he wanted to in his heart.And Winchester just reminds me of the guy I share office space with now(a very recent development, me in an office).  He comes off very haughty(leave it to the guy who went to community college to end up in an office with a guy from Harvard); but I've earned a couple SYA points by helping him out(we're both writers; he just considers his writing to be infinitely superior to mine since my degree isn't even in a writing related field and well, he's a Harvard man) and he seems to be a decent person underneath all the bull he throws up(I can actually see him dropping off toys at an orphanage like Winchester did).</blockquote>
