Message: <blockquote data-quote="John Crichton" data-source="post: 1026069" data-attributes="member: 4779">I don't flame.Fair enough.  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />I loved The Phantom Menace.  Not as good as A New Hope or Empire Strikes Back but just as good as Return of the Jedi.  I say this just so you have an idea of where I am coming from.The technology changed significantly in the 20 years after the Rise of Empire period.  It is quite easy to justify why R2 can't fly - because he's been modified.  If these were sequels the same could be said.  Things change.  The time period we are seeing in the prequels is still remnants of the Golden Age of the Republic.  That is just another byproduct.He does.  And if we had a few dozen interpretations of the same story things would be impossible to follow.  I wouldn't want that to happed to my creation either.That may have been the way it was going to be, but that changed.  It is also obvious that at least 3PO's memory has been wiped because he doesn't remember his homeworld or Obi-wan.  I don't know about R2.  He may still have his memory intact.No damper for me.  Watching that Death Star battle will always be great, especially after the touch-ups made in the Special Edition.  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />Redo another classic movie, and Star Wars to boot?  Most certainly not.  Lucas decided that his story didn't need 9 parts just the six and I am fine with that.  Sure, I'd love to see more Star Wars movies but that isn't the reality of things.  Star Wars is about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker and his redemption by his son.  That's it.  No more story to tell and it is nicely wrapped up.I'm sure that if 4-6 were redone they would look different but I wouldn't want them to.  The look of those movies was part of their allure.  And the focus of Star Wars has never been the acting.  Most of it is laughable but again that is part of the franchise.  I'm looking forward to Episdoe 3 because Lucas has said that it will be a synthesis of the newer look of the prequels and the older look of the original trilogy.So, no - I would not like in any way, shape or form like to see the original trilogy redone.  There would be no purpose to it as far as I can see.</blockquote>
