You can see a trailor for the movie here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/equilibrium.html Has anyone else seen this yet? I watched it last night, and while the plot is a bit thin, it has a lot of elements that make for a great gamer movie. Thematically it is similar to "The Matrix". A Post-World War III world, where humanity was almost wiped out. Now they live in a rigidly controlled society where human emotion has been deemed dangerous and illegal. The entire population takes a drug called "Prozium" that nullifies emotional extremes. No Hate, Rage, or Jealousy. No Love, Joy, or Compassion. No Passion at all. The main character is a member of the Cleric Grammaton's, a sect of warrior monks who practice the Gun Kata, and are the governments highest level of enforcers. They routinely take on odds of 10 or more to 1 in gun fights. They are tasked with hunting down the Sense Offenders who don't take their prozium and revel in the emotional extremes that threaten their society. The "Underground" is the rebel movement that tries to preserve the elements of the past that can evoke strong emotions: great works of art, music, poetry, etc. Of course the main character eventually commits the greatest crime a Cleric can. He starts to feel. That's the main elements that start the movie. The rest of it is full of cool looking gun battles and incidental character development, and occasionally the plot moves forward. :) The movie does suffer a bit from the "the main character is such a badass no one can really face him" syndrome. There a few fight scenes that don't seem to serve any other purpose other than to showcase how many ways he can kill people. Overall I liked it and found it entertaining, despite it's flaws. I would recommend it to any gamer who likes character concepts with a gun theme. :)
