[OT] Venom in Spiderman?

I know some people said there were a bunch of villains in the movie (I caught the Dr. Connors reference, and the glimpse of the supposed Otto Octavius [too bad he got blown up]). Where was Venom/Eddie Brock? Was it the large black man in Jameson's office? He looked about the right size.

I'm not sure where he is acctually shown, but at one point they mention Eddie had been taking pictures up until Peter started. I'm fairly certain that was a refernce to Eddie Brock since I think he was a Photographer in the comics also.

The large black man was Joe "Robbie" Robertson, city editor at the Bugle.

Eddie Brock, as you probably know, is a white bodybuilder-type.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought Doc Oct originally did get blown up? And had to redesign the "Exosuit" he was developing for the military into his "Arm Suit" that also partially replaced his spinal column. Or I am misremembering things... it has been over a decade since I read all those comics...

Doc Oc used a set of mechanical arms to handle hazardous material while working in the OsCorp lab. The lab explosion fused the mechanical arms to his spine. This allowed him to control them like a second set of appendages. The explosion also damaged his eyesight, which is why he is always drawn with a set of goggles/sunglasses.
