Message: <blockquote data-quote="Desdichado" data-source="post: 494073" data-attributes="member: 2205">Yesterday I got run off the road by some lousy driver who didn't want me passing him in the lane that was about to disappear in 100 yards or so, which caused a flat tire and bent wheel rim.  In addition, I was told that the studs on the other wheel had stripped threads and one of them was broken (I was replacing both tires, as my front tires were starting to look a little bald anyway), so they had to be replaced too (actually, I went and saw that hardware  Nasty looking.)  Total damage: c. $260.  Then, after the fact it occured to me that I can't envision a scheme in which the studs got broken and de-threaded by my driving around, and the most likely scenario was that the mechanic himself did that taking my wheel off.  I could be wrong, but I sure wish I had thought of it early enough to at least challenge him on that to see what he'd say.The only good things about it are that my wife took me out for a late lunch at Arby's (so we can get two more glasses!) and I didn't bother going in to work after that because I had already blasted the whole day to smithereens sitting around in the Goodyear lobby.  I also had the Monsternomicon in the car with me, which I was about 25% through with.  I finished it shortly after getting back home for the afternoon while my wife went shopping for Thanksgiving.  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f600.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":D" title="Big grin    :D"  data-smilie="8"data-shortname=":D" /></blockquote>
