Message: <blockquote data-quote="Gothmog" data-source="post: 1036945" data-attributes="member: 317">I'm a 29 year old white male, finishing the last year of my PhD in Neuroscience at University of Missouri, Columbia.  I came here with the intention of going into research (specifically CNS repair with stem cells), but after seeing the current research atmosphere have decided against it and opted for teaching.  During the school year, I teach 2 sections of Physiology, and I love it.  I also have a good lead on a job at my alma mater as a prof when I get done here.  I don't look like the normal science geek (though I am)- I'm 6'2", 250 lbs, long dark blonde hair, and look more like a pro wrestler.   <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f61b.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":p" title="Stick out tongue    :p"  data-smilie="7"data-shortname=":p" /> I started gaming when I was 10, and have been gaming continuously ever since.  Favorite games include D&D, Call of Cthulhu, Kult, WHFRP, Battletech, Deadlands, and GURPS.  I have been DMing the same D&D campaign for 13 years now with the same characters, although we only get to game about once a month any more.  I'm also a minis slut and don't know when to stop buying, especially anything by Reaper.I also like jogging, weightlifting, golf, baseball, camping, dogs, sci-fi and horror movies (especially cheesy old zombie movies), books on folklore and the paranormal (although I can't stand most modern fantasy novels), and I'm an amateur ghost hunter.  I enjoy classical music and metal (whether from the 80's or today).  Like Rel, I am an extremely lucky man- I am almost always happy and content, and enjoy every day.  I have a wonderful family who I know would do anything for me, and with whom I have never had arguements.  I tend to have a goofy sense of humor, which I also utilize in my classes by throwing a Nerf brain at my students to answer questions.  Hmm, what else?  Never been married, only had one girlfriend (I'm picky I guess), still holding out hope for someday.<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />   Thats pretty much it- the life of a science geek!</blockquote>
