Ok, let me see if I can make what was once a rambling, incoherent post into something more organized. Stats: 23 year old white male, gaming since age 13. I'm an atheist and tend to the liberal side of politics. Education: I am currently finishing my college education. I spent a year and a half at UMaine Farmington before transferring to Rutgers University, where I am currently dual majoring in Philosophy/Information Technology and Informatics. Occupation: For the next week I work at a video store. During the school year I work for Resnet, which basically means I'm a troubleshooter for the dorm network at my school. Career goals: Realistically, I want to be a lawyer, though I may end up in the technology field. In my wildest dreams I win the lottery and either become a philosophy professor, science teacher, or write novels (depending on what mood I am during the daydream). Gaming: I'm a big D&D fan, and I play 3rd edition, which I love. I started with 2nd edition when I was 13, and played it on and off over the years, more because those are the rules most gamers know than for any love of the system. I had some fond years playing Skyrealms of Jorune with a friend of mine, and we also played some great Battletech/Mechwarrior games. I played some Star Wars during HS when the re-releases came out, but overall I didn't game as much as I wanted to. KODT kept me in the fold. That, and temporary bouts Magic addiction. Still love that game; hopefully my girlfriend and I will get some good games when I go to the beach next week. When I first read about 3rd edition, I was overjoyed. The more I read about it, the more I liked it. I remember thinking to myself "Wow, they fixed everything I hate about second edition." I've been playing 3rd edition more on than off since it came out, and have been having some great times. I recently started getting into the non Card/RPG side of gaming. Frag is awesome. I also collect RPGs. Originally this was the excuse I made for not playing all those games that I bought, but recently I've begun collecting older D&D stuff via eBay. Hobbies other than gaming: computer games, mostly FPS's, especially Quake 3. reading, mostly fantasy/sf novels, though I read philosophy and science books as well. Every once in awhile I read some mainstream fiction.
