I've been a player since it came out and it's come a _long_ way from a terrible start. To be fair, it still has a long way to go but its come a long way since that terrible start. It's true that it takes a lot of computer, though less so if you don't want to fly a plane than if you do. People do ok with 600mhz-256mb computers on the ground. I'm playing fine with a 800mhz-512mb system, though I did have to upgrade my videocard. Tweaking your system can help a lot. Here's a good site for that: http://avondell.com/ww2ol/main.html The graphics aren't as good as single player or non-mmo multiplayer games, but they look decent and do the job. According to the official boards, they've added multisource lighting to their graphics engine and will start including that. They also seem to be considering dropping win-95 support so they can take advantage of a lot of performance updates in DX8 to allow better graphics. Finally, there's a major update coming in a couple of months with a completely overhauled UI that's supposed to look really slick. I don't play as much as I used to due mostly to burnout, but it's a fun game. Fortunatly, you don't have to take my word for it. They've got a free 14 day trial available for download.
