I'm there. I'm wondering this: Is there going to be some form of predetermining plotline, or characters? Because it springs to mind that one writer might well kill off a character another writer would like alive. Now, please, don't take this as criticism or as hijacking your idea, but: I've been toying around with an idea inspired by the Star Wars: Infinities comics. The idea is this... a small event changes in the Star Wars universe (in the comics case, a turbo laser hits a certain ship) and everything spins in a different direction. Everything changes (Leia goes DarkSide for example). Rather than leaping into what might, without a great deal of planning, quickly run dry. So... here is what I propose (just slap me down if this isn't the sort of thing you're looking for): One writer comes up with an introduction that leads the heroes (they can be created with all our input, here) to a certain point, or even through an encounter. Now... each writer who wants to participate can write their own version of the encounter but change something at a certain point - maybe that mage did die, or the fighter fell off the cliff, or the kobold made his reflex save (and infinity other possibilities) and the knock on effect that that would have on the rest of the encounter. THEN, we vote on the best spin off thread and follow that through (the writer of the winning thread writes out the next installment and the process is repeated). Voila. Story. And its progress is voted for by all of us. But then again. Thats just an idea. Maybe I haven't explained properly (the idea is flow of consciousness at the moment), but its worth thinking about - it might be a better structure than a simple pass-the-story style. But then again I might be wrong. Feel free to tell me to shut up. Spider.
