I'll say it again -- wow!
A package came in the mail today, addressed to me...it came from the RPGA. I had no idea what it was or why it came. While the RPGA always seemed to be an interesting concept to me I never payed it much attention, as there are no conventions around where I live and hence, no opportunity to play sanctioned events. When membership went free at Gen Con last year, however, I signed up like lots of other people...hey, membership was free, even if I couldn't do anything.
When the GM Herald-Level test was announced online, I went and took the test and sent off the email with my RPGA number. I thought it would be nice to try and get my gaming group into the playtesting program. I followed the directions for registering my group and got an email back saying they weren't to that stage yet -- keep watching the website for details.
When the Legacy of the Green Regent campaign was announced, I checked out the website and read about the Player Reward Program. Again, registration was free, and even though I didn't expect to ever get to play in a sanctioned event, it couldn't hurt to sign up...that was a couple months ago, and I hadn't given the RPGA another thought since.
Until today, when the package arrived.
The contents of the package were as follows:

The contents of the package were as follows:
- Wizards of the Coast September-December 2003 catalogue
- Preview booklet for the Eberron campaign setting -- This contains the same artwork that debuted at Gen Con this year and appeared in Dragon #311.
- Scourge of Worlds interactive movie preview dvd -- This was a freebie with a previous issue of Dragon magazine, but unfortunately, I never got that particular issue.
- Dungeons & Dragons miniatures ad sheet -- This has a painting of a combat between a party of adventurers and a displacer beast on one side, and the same scene displayed with miniatures on the other.
- Dungeons & Dragons miniatures poster -- This has the same painting in the ad blown up on one side, and the miniatures from the entry pack and Harbinger expansion on the other.
- Dwarven axefighter miniature -- This is one of the miniatures from the entry pack.
- Dragonlance campaign setting poster
- Dungeons & Dragons official roleplaying soundtrack ad sheet
- Fireball template -- This is a gorgeous flame-patterned template on clear acetate for determining the area affected by a fireball on a battlemat.
- "Extermination" adventure -- This is a 1st-level adventure from the Legacy of the Green Regent campaign for the RPGA.
- Fist of Emirikol d20 and stat card -- This is a whopping 2-inch diameter d20 with sigils carved on each face; each sigil corresponds to an effect listed on the stat card for the artifact.
Wow!
