Other than Mercane, which race is known as "credible" inter-plane merchants?

I need some inter-plane merchant appear in my campaign.

At first, I thought to use a Mercane but cannot find appropriate mini to represent one. So I need some alternative.

It does not need to be a good or a lawful outsider but preferably something that good PC party will not attack on the first look (not efreet).

It is good if the race has innate plane shift ability. But I can always add levels in some spell-casting class. So there will be no problem.

Shin, I know this sounds like blasphemy, but one does not need a mini for everything. Notably for a magic item merchant who will usually leave the field in round 1 if at all possible. Proper representation is nice, but to not use a creature due to mini availability is just a bit much.

As it happens The DDM marid Is a large blue Biped, in need of some robes.

They are tall enough to work for large though their default base is 25mm. If you cut, then lengthen the torso just a bit on the right one, he should be the perfect fit for an Arcane / Mercane.

Maybe you are right about this. But I am planning to let PCs "rescue" that merchant from a kind of magic circle in a dungeon. As we usually use minis when doing dungeon delve, even when not actually in round-to-round encounter, it is better if I can represent that merchant with some mini.

Yes Marid. I have this one from DDM (actually two or three of them I guess) and an old Ral-Partha Marid. The problem is, they are almost naked not at all "merchant-like". A am not good at sculpting (or sewing?) and thus preparing a robe for such a mini will be difficult for me.
