Saturday Upper Saturday, Nov 01, 2025 at 10:09am Incline Chest Press (Machine) Set 1: 225 lbs x 8 Set 2: 225 lbs x 7 Cable Fly Crossovers Set 1: 40 lbs x 15 Set 2: 40 lbs x 12 Lat Pulldown (Machine) Set 1: 240 lbs x 9 Set 2: 240 lbs x 8 Iso-Lateral Row (Machine) "Plate loaded" Set 1: 170 lbs x 8 Lateral Raise (Machine) "Upstairs machine" Set 1: 115 lbs x 10 Set 2: 115 lbs x 10 Bicep Curl (Cable) "By pulldowns; change—machine sticks" Set 1: 120 lbs x 10 Set 2: 120 lbs x 8 Triceps Extension (Cable) Set 1: 120 lbs x 8 Set 2: 110 lbs I’m adopting a slight change to my approach to sets and reps. The last several years, I’ve left a rep or two in the tank on the first set to go to failure at the same weight on my next set. I’d max out the range over the course of weeks before graduating to a heavier weight. Now, I’m going for failure in each set, even if I have to lighten the load on the next set to stay in the same range. I figure if I’m doing lower volume, I really need to make the intensity on each set matter. We’ll see how it goes.
