Ahem.. On the issue of Ushering.... I tried my best leading all the nominees to the first 3 rows. However I feel as If i was the ONLY one doing it. Jason/Hound was in the middle front meeting nominees and was basically stationary. We had 2 guys at the doors and I'm not quite sure what they were doing. So I was running back and forth between the aisles asking who was a nominee and who wasnt and directing them to their seets. :-( I was the only one doing that And for the most part it turned out ok. Had 2 or 3 people done it, it would have been perfect. Anyway. The Ushering next year can be very simple. We already know the layout of the room and how many seets we have to work with. We just assign seating before hand as if it was a restaruant. We need about 6 volunteers for this next part. 2 people per door. One door for Staff/nominees, one for guests and just anyone who wants to watch. We divert the Nominees to the second door where 2 (or 3 max) get their cards and told which seat up front to take. Then we need 1 or 2 ushers per aisle. They will take the nominees to their actual seat. And try to group other people where they would like further back. I'd also thing that Staff/Volunteers/Ushers should get the 4th row or the sides up front. Doing the work they should get seats too. And lastly. Someone should be doing some sort of announcments or direction using the stage mic. If anything counting down to the show every 10 min. Ok. Next up. It's been said by more then one person that they didnt like how everyone broke up and got lost after the ennies. I personally didnt like that everyone went to bars, that exluded me and made me feel like crap. I have a right to hang out with my associates after the cermony and going to bars exludes anyone under 21. Though next year this will not apply to me, it will to others and I do NOT want them exluded as I was. How do we solve this? Simple. We can add a reception to the Ennies. A catered Reception. The back of the Ballroom we were in clearly had more then enough room for a few tables where we could have soda, a buffet, or whatever else. Instead of just getting together, bam wam, thanks ma'am, and leaving, people have incentive to stay and talk and socialize and it becomes a much more intimate event. Either a 'for party type reception or an after party works. During the Ennies the food would be brought in an set up by caterers. When the Ceremony Ends we all "smooz" around and eat. We can also do a buffet before the Ennies for the hour where we have the slide show. Technically we can do both. During the Slideshow we'de have soda and snacks like chips and dips and soda's on the tables. Then after switch to a Hotfood buffet and/or Heroes. Another option is taking everyone and going to a single restaruant after the Ennies. Have an actual Private ENWorld Party at one of the huge restaruants next to the con. (I would suggest O'rourks but even in a private party the place is closed to anyone under 21 :( and its too far from the convention center to be realistic.) I'd be more then happy to help with this. Either finding a caterer or talking to one of the local restaruants to set up a party afterwords. And finally, last but not least, and prolly the most rediculous part of this. If at all possible I'd appreciate being able to present an Award. Yea i'm a nobody right now with not that many credits to my name. But I'd appreciate it non the less. Not all presenters need be someone special. I hope i'm not forgetting anything.
