Look for a link beneath each map image in the IC. I've done this before, and don't mind doing it on a temporary basis for this game. The next time I draft a combat map (for a new encounter, not for this one), I'll fiddle more with the scale so that perhaps the grid is larger and more legible. I've used Excel in the past for other games (admittedly without the fancy background), and have been able to include decent quality, fully legible map images.
This seals it as a no for me. While I'd like to be able to offer the ability for players to move icons on their own, I'm not willing to leave a player in the dust to do so. I have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and I can't manipulate the map on Google Draw, either. Like industrygothica, I do the majority of my posting on a non-mobile device (in my case, my laptop) for the same reason IG stated...I prefer to be able spread out and to view stuff on a larger screen. It makes me squirrely to post via my phone, so I only do it when I'm out and about or when I've something small to post. That's irrelevant to this discussion, however. I know from several prior conversations via PM with Yavathol that he often uses his smartphone to post, and that his ability to do so was a condition of his joining this game. I tried Dropbox earlier today, and it does not support Excel backgrounds at all, so Dropbox is out. I played with ditzie extensively back in March and toyed with it again this afternoon, but am unwilling to work with it because it never made it out of beta testing, the interface is awful, and it doesn't seem to want to let me upload and edit the background for the maps I want to create (though, if there is a ditzie expert among us, let's talk because maybe I'm missing something). GlassEye, if you're willing to kinda-sorta keep tabs on Google Draw on an informal basis and let us know if Google ever makes it possible for mobile users to manipulate data on Google Draw, I'd be happy to revisit the idea of doing our mapping on Google Draw. Right now, however, it just won't support what we need it to do. And I don't know of another site that will.
