Have fun dancing CB, don't get too competitive! :-D Was interesting to read your latest blog post...you didn't expect the combat to last that long, and thought that we'd make quick work of the kuo-toa, in spite of the number of hit points they have. What you didn't say is why you thought we had an unexpectedly hard fight! Were our tactics bad or were we simply unlucky? I have some thoughts but I'm curious about yours:) Hindsight is always 20/20, but I think it all started to go wrong when Brinn threw the monitor into the middle of the group! Maybe he thought the fall would kill it, maybe he thought that would help us to focus fire on it? Suddenly the back-rank spellcasters were having to engage in melee! What I really enjoy about the size and shape of the terrain is having the ledge, so the fight happens on two levels and it feels very tactical. We have choke-points to try to avoid being swamped, but the caverns are still quite small (mental note for the future - large area effect spells are likely to be less useful in the Underdark) and so the lighting is confined. Maybe some of the cavern edges could have been difficult terrain, is the only suggestion I'd make:)
