It then floats off the edge and free-falls down into the darkness below. Without any ground beneath it, its repulsorlift engine becomes useless as DRK-1X hurtles down the shaft out of control. Nearing the bottom however, the diminutive probe droid sends a surge of power through its engine to arrest its decent, regains control and slows to a stop a few meters above the floor.
