[QUOTE="JPL, post: 912859, member: 1964"] You don't want a debate? Fine. Here's a sermon. This thread is part of a rich legacy of delusional nerds. Remember HEAT? "Hal Jordan is the one true Green Lantern"? Death threats against Ron Marz? Same thing. Remember "Star Trek: Excelsior"? How five nerds picketed Paramount and demanded that George Takai get his own series? Same thing. Remember when 3.0 came out? "Let's show the designers and parent company that they messed up. Let us SHOW them how many people they've offended and how much money they've lost" because they replaced 2.0. The common thread in this rich tapestry is the belief that lots of other people share your opinion --- enough that once you start whoopin' and a-hollerin', professional creators and the businessmen who market those creations will realize the error of their ways and make George Takai the new Green Lantern with a favored class of illusionist. What is the point of sending your petition to WotC? Do you suppose they will pulp the 3.5 books because you and your internet friends (who I'm sure will show up eventually) said so? They won't get your $90? Were you planning on buying additional copies of 3.0 core books this summer for some reason? Because virtually everyone on these boards already has those books. WotC already has my $90, and yours, and theirs. By producing 3.5, WotC has thousands of people happily prepared to spend ANOTHER $90. Do not delude yourself into thinking that most people, or even many people, have already made up their minds that 3.5 is broken or has excessive changes or is otherwise A Bad Thing. Do not delude yourself into thinking that it has not occurred to WotC that some of these changes might be unpopular to some people. Wait until the books come out, read the SRD, listen to the designers talk about the reasoning behind the changes, and then decide whether the bad outweighs the good to such an extent that your $90 is better spent elsewhere.
