Over Tumbrayne Falls

Zhaleskra

Adventurer
Hello. It's been a while since I've used ENWorld. Anyway, I have a PBMB game in the character creation phase on the WotC boards. While I am ready to start as soon as the four players I have complete their character sheets, I do have four slots available. Ok, enough beating around the bush, here's the part you really want:

Over Tumbrayne Falls (Pregame Setup)

It's the first day in the second month of Second Autmun (Hivvem 1), and life in Ovirucci - a town near the edge of the branch Dentheia - has become incredibly dull. The knighthoods are not on campaigns, Cyarr and Primes are at peace, and the magical academies are on break. While you are searching for something to do, you hear a rumor that the Verticals beasts are using the cover of the Tumbrayne Falls to launch an attack on the city. Even if it's not true, you'll find other things out, such as if the waterfall feeds a river on a lower branch or merely continues to the bottom of The Tree (if there is one)? With nothing else to do, it should prove to be exciting, dangerous, and probably wet.

If you have a copy of the World Tree rules, I am accepting starting experience +5/+15/-10 characters. However, please post your character's background first - it is guaranteed to get your character extra free stuff. Since the system does not have alignments, please make sure that characters can cooperate with each other. Thank you.

I currently have the following characters:
1. Oothmaster Squirns, a khtsoyis healer/thug played by Bard Bloom (one of the authors)
2. Yetherrod, a rassimel mage/glassworker, who is allergic to metal, and has a thing for flowers
3. Skultamrin, a gormoror brawler/singer
4. RESERVED

Oww My Head!!!

Sorry just reading over the rules, after reading so much I feel that Id be interested, Id have to ask do you have anymore info about Zi Ri? Other than misteriously, how do they fit in with society or do they mostly live away on there own world branch?

More about Zi Ri

Let's see, what to start with.

Well, I can provide you this link: Sythyry's Journal, the journal of a coming-of-age Zi Ri.

When among their own, and as children or juveniles (the first 300-400 years), they tend to live in flocks of a dozen or two, and spend a decade or two with the other species now and then. After that they tire of constant change. Most Zi Ri beginning adventurers are somewhere between the ages of 40 and 100.

They can have up to four scale colors. As a new house rule, I will allow Zi Ri to have some hair, if for example the player wants the style of an Eastern dragon, I will allow whiskers. Because Zi Ri are so uncommon, most people treat them as nobles, even if they're not. They are a very playful species - they have to be - or immortality would get boring. Their numbers are limited because mating is actively painful, one story calls it "the 7 agonies."

Too get more to the physical description, every Zi Ri has two horns, a crest that goes partway down their neck, 3 backswept spikes at the corners of the jaws, and backswept tendrils at the corners od the eyes and sides of the head. All of their paws have long nimble fingers with short white claws, and opposable thumbs. The forepaws make perfectly good hands.

They may fly with their wings, or levitate.

Hope this helps. :)

Oh it does

Thanks if you dont mind ill try and make a character and a back story

Did i catch it correctly that the ZI RI are quadrupeds and can only use small weapons exept rapiers and no sheild exept bucklers or am i getting mixed up again?

Quadrupeds and Arms/Armor limitation

As the dimensions for Zi Ri are given as length, I infered that they are probably most comfortable when walking to walk as quadrupeds. As a house rule, they may walk as bipeds if they want to, and if they're fighting rapier & dagger they have to in order to fight that way effectively.

Yes, Zi Ri are limited to small weapons - and rapiers due to my house rule - and armor selection is limited to bucklers.

WotC Boards Trouble

I couldn't get into the WotC boards at all yesterday. Today they're as slow as molasses in January, and they're shaky on accepting log in information. :uhoh:

WotC Boards OK

Been a while since I've been here. First the WotC boards trouble and then trouble here. Then forgetting that I had an obligation to come back to this thread. So anyway, now that both boards are working again, I'll mention that we've just begun but there is still time to make a character and join.

Sorry about the absence.
