Slow down.. One of the reasons why I invented my own campaign world in 1e was to avoid buying the stuff. I was a dirt poor student, actually I was too poor to afford dirt, it was imitation dirt for me! A few years after 2e came out, I started buying stuff, especially Al Qadim and Planescape. Bought way too much of it and then my favorite settings went away and I was a little happy because I saved a lot of money. Sold basicly everything about a year before 3e. Then 3e came out. I bought the core books, a few of the others...not because I can't afford them now, for the first time in my life I can buy virtually whatever I want. But a while ago I learned a lesson, having more books doesn't make you a better DM! You have to know what's in the book, and how to use the book, that's the trick. Having to search through 10 books in order fo find the right PRC or spell or optional rule isnt fun for me... and how many monsters are you realy going to use? Besides, all of my money went into the this oil conglomerate from down in Texas called Enron, with connections like VP Cheney and Pres. Dubya, how can it go wrong... Wait a second, now I'm going to stick to buying RPGs, a much better type of fantasy world!
