Paging Mouseferatu: "Echoes of the Past"

Remus Lupin

Adventurer
I know that Mouseferatu worked on the Scarred Lands book "Echoes of the Past," but I can't find any information on what's actually in there. Any chance you can offer a summary?

Thanks,
Scott

*ding* You rang?

Well, truth is I didn't write a lot for that book. But I think I can still help out, since I can just grab it off my shelf and glance at the table of contents. ;)

It's a book on the Slarecians, more or less. (A powerful, otherworldly psionic race who had a major impact on Scarn's past history before they were banished). The book is divided into chapters: one on history, one on surviving cults of Slarecian worshipers/servants, one on Slarecian ruins for use as adventure sites and/or plot seeds (and there are some funky locations in there), a chapter on plot and campaign ideas for the Slarecian return*, and an appendix with mechanical goodies (feats, PrCs, monsters, all that stuff).

*(The "Slarecians Return" chapter is explicitly called out as non-canon. That is, these are suggestions for if you choose to have them return in your campaign; this is not the writers or developers saying they have officially returned to Scarn.)

Huh... and here I thought you had to say "Mouseferatu, Mouseferatu, Mouseferatu" in order to get him to appear.

That was when you had to use bathroom mirrors. Computer monitors are much more efficient.

Bathroom mirrors? I thought vampiric rodents would shun mirrors! I guess you never stop learning! :p

Cheers, LT.

IIRC, that was a 3.0 book, which is a tad disappointing, since psionics changed quite a bit in 3.5E.

Not only that, but they released it about 6 weeks before the Expanded Psionics Handbook hit the shelves, making any crunch in the book almost instantly useless. I was really kinda disappointed that they went ahead and released it as opposed to pushing it back and making it compatible. Made it seem like they were just phoning it in by then. :(
